U.S. Accreditation Inc. Logo & Symbols Usage Guideline


Purpose of This Document


This document outlines the guidelines for the use of the U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols. The purpose of this document is to ensure that the logo and symbols are used consistently and in accordance with U.S. Accreditation Inc.'s brand standards.


Definitions


U.S. Accreditation logo: The primary logo of U.S. Accreditation, which includes the organization's name and symbol.

U.S. Accreditation symbols: Secondary symbols or icons associated with U.S. Accreditation that may be used in conjunction with the national accreditation logo.


Introduction


U.S. Accreditation is a well-respected organization that is dedicated to ensuring the quality and integrity of various industries through accreditation. U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols are an important part of U.S. Accreditation's visual identity and are used to represent the organization's brand. It is important that the logo and symbols are used consistently and in accordance with these guidelines.


Form and Display of the U.S. Accreditation's Logo and Symbols


  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols should be used in a clear and consistent manner, with appropriate spacing and size.
  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols should be used in their original form and should not be modified or altered in any way.
  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols should be used in their appropriate colors as defined in the official U.S. Accreditation brand guidelines.

Use of the U.S. Accreditation's Logo and Symbols


  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols may be used on official U.S. Accreditation publications, websites, and other materials.
  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols may be used by accredited organizations in accordance with the terms of their accreditation.
  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols may be used by organizations that have a formal relationship with U.S. Accreditation.
  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols may not be used in any manner that implies endorsement of any product or service.
  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols may not be used in any manner that is misleading or confusing.
  • - U.S. Accreditation logo and symbols may not be used in any manner that is in violation of any law or regulation.

Usage of Accreditation Symbols


The U.S. Accreditation accreditation symbols is that indicated in below and can be used by CBs that have received an U.S. Accreditation accreditation certificate.




Who can Make Claims?


Claims of being accredited by U.S. Accreditation through statements or by use of the U.S. Accreditation accreditation symbol shall only be made by CBs that have been issued an U.S. Accreditation accreditation certificate.

The following entities shall not make any such claim:

  • - CBs that have applied to U.S. Accreditation but have not yet been issued an accreditation certificate by U.S. Accreditation.
  • - CBs that have been assessed by U.S. Accreditation but have not been issued an accreditation certificate by U.S. Accreditation.. This applies to CBs in schemes where another entity makes the accreditation decision or where the CB has requested assessment but not accreditation.
  • - CBs, inspection bodies or other entities that are subcontracted by an U.S. Accreditation accredited CB.
  • - Any other entities including certified operators or non-certified operators

Obligatory and Optional Use by Accredited CBs


In order that interested parties are correctly informed of the CB’s accreditation status, CBs that have received an U.S. Accreditation Inc. accreditation certificate are required to declare their accredited status:

  • - On scope certificates issued to operators under the U.S. Accreditation accredited scheme.
  • - On their websites

In both cases, the CB may choose between making written statements or using the U.S. Accreditation accreditation symbol following the requirements in this document.

Written claims or use of the accreditation symbol are optional for accredited CBs on promotional materials, CB documents, letterheads, and business cards.

Accreditation claims of whatever kind and location shall not be misleading about the scope of the accreditation.


Reference to Accreditation


The symbol is based on the U.S. Accreditation company logo with the addition of the words "calibration laboratory", testing laboratory", "medical laboratory", "certification body", "inspection body", "proficiency testing provider", "reference material producer", "medical diagnostic service", "verification body" or "product certification" which denotes the activity to which the accreditation refers along with the contract number of the certification body allocated by the U.S. Accreditation.

  • - Accreditation status should be referenced in accordance with U.S. Accreditation guidelines and policies.
  • - Accreditation status should be referenced in a manner that is truthful and not misleading.
  • - U.S. Accreditation accreditation symbol for calibration and testing shall not be displayed on an item that has been tested, or on a product (or attachment thereto) or used to imply product certification or approval by U.S. Accreditation.

Suspension/Withdrawal of the Accreditation


The accredited CAB shall discontinue the use of the accreditation symbols or any reference to accreditation status in reports, certificates, promotional material, stationery, internet web sites, etc. for an activity immediately on suspension, withdrawal or termination of the accreditation for that activity for an activity immediately on suspension, withdrawal or termination of the accreditation for that activity.


Misuse of The Symbol


The Symbol is owned by U.S. Accreditation The Accredited CABs are not allowed to copy or make use the same or similar Symbol as their own symbols. In the event of misuse of the Symbol, U.S. Accreditation Inc. reserves the right to issue violations and sanctions, depending on the gravity of the violation.

U.S. Accreditation Inc. shall monitor and follow up on any claims or use of the U.S. Accreditation logo and acronym that may cause confusion in the market.

Logo & Symbols Usage

This document sets out the conditions that must be followed for organisations that are permitted to use the logo or symbols.

We have specific guidelines for the usage of our logos and symbols, and we ask that you please follow these guidelines strictly when using the our logos and symbols.
