Cybersecurity Inspection Body Program

The Cybersecurity Inspection Body Accreditation Program is a certification program that is used to evaluate and certify the competency and credibility of organizations that provide cybersecurity inspection services. Cybersecurity inspection bodies are organizations that are responsible for inspecting and evaluating the cybersecurity controls and systems of other organizations, in order to identify vulnerabilities and potential risks.

Cybersecurity Inspection Body Program

To obtain accreditation under the Cybersecurity Inspection Body Accreditation Program, an organization must demonstrate that it has the necessary facilities, equipment, and personnel to perform accurate and reliable cybersecurity inspections. This may include demonstrating that the organization follows established protocols and procedures, that it has a quality management system in place, and that it is able to produce valid and reliable inspection reports.

Accreditation under the Cybersecurity Inspection Body Accreditation Program can be beneficial for several reasons. It can help to demonstrate the competency and credibility of the inspection body to regulatory bodies, customers, and other stakeholders, and may be required in order to qualify for certain contracts or business opportunities. Accreditation can also help to improve the quality and reliability of the inspection body's services, and may lead to increased confidence in the inspection reports produced.

U.S. Accreditation Inc. offers accreditation of cybersecurity organizations to instill confidence in the quality of the independent assessment services to various compliance regimes.

The Cybersecurity Inspection Body Program was created to provide added trust and assurance in the quality of assessments performed by our accredited organizations.

Our third-party accreditation offers an independent review of an organizations compliance to both ISO/IEC 17020 (Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspections) as well as competence in technical program requirements for the desired scope of accreditation (I.e. SOC II, HIPAA/HITECH, PCI, etc.).

Organizations accredited under this program will be known as Independent Assessment Organizations (IAOs). Accreditation as an IAO functions as the initial step to becoming a FedRAMP 3PAO. IAOs must hold a Cybersecurity Inspection Body Program Accreditation for a minimum period of 1 year before being considered for FedRAMP 3PAO status.

Please note that our accreditation to the requirements of a given inspection scheme is not meant to replace an existing approval process through the scheme owner.
