EPA WaterSense Program

The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) WaterSense program is a certification program that is used to identify water-efficient products and buildings. To qualify for WaterSense certification, a product or building must meet certain standards or criteria related to water efficiency.

EPA WaterSense Program

To obtain WaterSense accreditation, an organization must typically demonstrate that it has the necessary policies, processes, and procedures in place to manage water consumption effectively. This may include demonstrating that the organization has appropriate staffing levels, that it follows established best practices and guidelines, and that it has systems in place to monitor and improve water performance.

WaterSense accreditation can be beneficial for several reasons. It can help to demonstrate the organization's competence and credibility to regulatory bodies, customers, and other stakeholders, and may be required in order to qualify for certain contracts or business opportunities. Accreditation can also help to improve the water performance of the organization's operations, and may lead to increased efficiency and cost savings.

Our EPA WaterSense Accreditation Program accredits certification bodies that approve the use of the WaterSense label on various water-saving products.

WaterSense is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) partnership program. It seeks to protect the future of our nations water supply by offering people a simple way to use less water with water-efficient products, homes, and services.

The WaterSense label makes it easy for consumers to recognize products and programs that save water without sacrificing performance or quality. Independent, third-party licensed certification bodies certify that products meet EPA criteria for water efficiency and performance by following testing and certification protocols specific to each product category.

Products that are certified as meeting EPA specifications are allowed to bear the WaterSense label. All products bearing the WaterSense label must be certified by an EPA-approved, independent, third-party product certification body that has been accredited by U.S. Accreditation Inc. or another approved accreditation body.

This specialty program is covered under the U.S. Accreditation Inc. Product Certification Accreditation Program.
